Join me as I chat with Wes Nelson, Former President and Co-Founder of CEL (Calgary eSports League)

Wes takes on his journey towards a rising industry that combines competitive gaming with a live audience - eSports. Always seeing himself as a casual gamer, Wes saw an opportunity while working at SPARK to fill large, unused space for a night of gaming. After many unsuccessful attempts to get the powers that be on board, he decided to host the event himself. So, on a Tuesday night in January 2019, the event was a go and Wes would have been happy if 100 people showed. Then, 500 people showed up. That successful night led to him co-founding CEL, and they are still going strong today and redefining the eSports culture in Calgary

Wes' persistence to run with his idea and have it pay off just might inspire you to keep pushing your own ideas further. Because you never know…
